After reading it, I signed as well. Is it perfect? No. Is it Baptist? No. Is it Evangelical? Yes, and that is the point. While I could have wished for an addition here or there, a stronger emphasis somewhere else, any disagreement I have would be what it does not include. For example, with "Evangelical" coming from the word we usually translate "Gospel," I wish the writers were a bit more clear and focused on the Gospel aspect of being evangelical
(i.e. conversion, regeneration). Overall a very good document.
Steve YoungSteve Younghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04858156317482625056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22575956.post-89761337138103603102008-05-15T14:54:00.000-05:002008-05-15T14:54:00.000-05:00David,I followed your link to the document and rea...David,
I followed your link to the document and read it. I would have probably worded...I read the document. I would have probably worded a few things differently, even found a couple of things with which I might disagree. Overall, I think it is a document we should be able to agree to within SBC circles.

However, I am a little surprised at the negative reaction among bloggers. One criticized it for not including immersion.

It seems a pretty solid statement of the ground of our cooperation across evangelical circles.Dave Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01637750764381837761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22575956.post-62211965873753343852008-05-08T11:13:00.000-05:002008-05-08T11:13:00.000-05:00Kevin,Hopefully, this can lead to some healing, an...Kevin,

Hopefully, this can lead to some healing, and positive reflection, as we seek to be faithful to the Lord, and speak with a united voice to the world around us about the things that really matter.David Rogershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11701934251748260267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22575956.post-42002994643939098502008-05-08T09:35:00.000-05:002008-05-08T09:35:00.000-05:00David,Since you like it too, it must be a good doc...David,

Since you like it too, it must be a good document.
